According to the news from IT House on January 23, according to the Economic Times report,Apple’s iPhone exports in December 2022 exceeded 8,100 Crore (Crore) rupees, or about 1 billion U.S. dollars (currently about 6.78 billion yuan). This set a new record for Apple’s single-month iPhone export volume. The report pointed out that Apple has driven India’s smartphone export business, with a total export volume of 10,000 grams, or about 1.235 billion U.S. dollars (currently about 8.373 billion yuan).
IT Home learned that Apple currently has three main suppliers in India, including Foxconn, Pegatron and Wistron Technology. The manufacturers, based in the states of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, are participants in the Smartphone Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme launched by the Indian government in April 2020.
Starting from the smartphone business, India hopes to increase the export scale of 13 industries. In fact, Samsung’s export scale in India is also relatively large, but it was closed for 10-15 days due to regular maintenance in December last year, resulting in a decrease in production and exports.
